I created a channel, and before opening it, I always remember to log in and log in as a channel contact.

Yet...I don't get Auto-Opd when I join the channel?

Is there some reason for this?

This is a services issue specific to the network that you're on.

Did you register the channel using chanserv or the channel registration service on that network?
If not, then that service isn't recognizing that you created the channel, as there's been no information stored in it's database to tell it that you should be auto-opped as the founder.

If you did, then I suggest you see if there's an IRCop or Admin help channel, and enquire there. Worst case, join the basic help channel (usually #help) and mention your problem there.

try these steps
  • 1. identify yourself as channel owner with
    /cs identify channel password
the password must be the same as that you've provided when you registered the channel.
  • 2. look in the levels list whitch level you need for auto-op. you can access the list with
    /cs levels channel list
the AUTOOP entry will tell you the level.
  • 3. add your nick to the channel access list with this level:
/cs access channel add yournick level

note that some servers do not accept the /cs abbreviation. use "/msg chanserv" instead.
