Forums mIRC Help k-lined in 6.03 but able to connect using 5.61

i can connect to undernet just fine when i use my 5.61 mIRC client but when i try to using 6.03 it tells me:

i understand the concept of being k-lined but i can't figure out why it would apply for one version of mIRC but not another. any clues? i appreciate it.

Are your nickname and ident the same in both clients?

yeah exactly the same

make sure the full name/ email addy/nick lines in connect are exactly the same.... in connect/identd, make sure user id line is also the same. Is the copy of 6.03 clean copy without any scripts? you tried to the same server?

Is the option "Enable Identd Server" checked in File/Options/connect/Identd ?. Some servers dont allow to connect those that have this option unchecked. If this option is not checked, a ~ symbol will appear in front of your userid in your whois info.

Also check the ports you are trying to use to connect, available ones for Atlanta server are : 6660-6669,7000 and 8000
