Forums Connection Issues Well im kinda newbie on mirc settings but...

hi guys n' girls
ive been using mirc for years now but suddenly after updating my winxp home (org)
i could not connect to any server at all.
tried to make a clean install of win xp install my nforce 2 drivers and my ati radeon9800pro card
and directX9c
thats all i did and it still doesnt work.
searched the internet but couldnt find anythihg that cured my problem everybody said just try another server...well DUH! tried hundreds of servers and know they work cause my friends are on some of them but i get...
Unable to connect to server (Connection timed out)
but hey it worked last night but not now it doesnt .

so what am i doing wrong
have no firewall or anything of protective software installed
hope you can help this desperate guy

Running with no protective software is dangerous.
As to you not connecting, and getting that message, it simply means that the timing on your system didn't allow for the connection. (ie: it timed out). Next time you try, and if you know someoine that is connected, find out exactly which server they are connected to, and try forcing the connection to that server.
You also might want to check your settings in mIRC Options - Connect - Options - Retry
If the numbers that are there aren't allowing you to connect, increase the values.

Are you aware of the Windows Internet Connection Firewall ?
