okay, this does work in some instances and since 6.x has been exploited im forced to use 6.12

i would like to see it back in mirc because transparency rules and there was no real reason it should have been touched.

Well I assume you read Khaled's thread about why it was changed. Don't you think he has a better standpoint to judge whether there's a 'real reason' to change it than you?
Posted By: cold Re: Transparency with /setlayer - 17/10/03 10:10 PM
What do you mean by "real reason"?
Posted By: MTec89 Re: Transparency with /setlayer - 17/10/03 11:40 PM
ok it dont work if u screw around resizeing the windows but there would be no point in doing that.

some people want setlayer and some dont, just put it back in and leave those that want it to use it, and everyone else just leave it be.. setlayer should have never been touched...

yes and then ud be here reporting a bug in it khaled had good reason to remove it..... if it doesnt work it doesnt need to be in there.
Posted By: MTec89 Re: Transparency with /setlayer - 18/10/03 03:16 AM
i report no bugs because i dont know what is a bug and what is prog/hardware interference and it does work. setlayer should not have been touched.
Posted By: pheonix Re: Transparency with /setlayer - 18/10/03 03:20 AM
it has bugs.
Posted By: _D3m0n_ Re: Transparency with /setlayer - 18/10/03 04:25 AM
apparently in all your expertise your unaware of what bugs are. let me clarify that for u. something that doesnt work as intended is a bug ... however menial and small it is still a bug. khaled plainly says it doesnt work so he removed it. thats his option as a programmer to remove buggy functions from his program, maybe at a later date he will work out the bugs and possibly readd it ...... im hoping he has several things hes planning on adding in the future, but again that is all his right, as ive come to understand. now if your that unhappy u can do one of three things ... downgrade and be vulnerable to exploits, switch to another irc client, or just learn to accept the change. and hope at a later date it gets worked out. please stop whining about it like a 5 yr old

( Off Topic ): to starbucks_mafia and cold

I just wanted to point out again that Fortune City is replacing both of your avatars with crappy Fortune City logos. The both of you probably see the avatars fine, because you have Fortune City cookies in your browser cache... but the rest of us cannot.

Choose a better provider. smirk

an example of a bug(not a real bug)

//echo -a $time returns 18/9/2003

this is a bug because it was intended to return the time, it returned the date instead, thus it didn't work as intended.
or even if it returned <date> <time> or <time> <date> it would be a bug, because it is doing unintended extra stuff.

I see both their avatars just fine and I have cookies blocked.

i third that >:P
Posted By: cold Re: off topic: fortune city avatars - 18/10/03 04:49 AM
Weird, my cache is clear and I still can see both images. It must be something there.
You're right about one thing though, I should choose a better provider. I was just lazy and didn't really search for a good (free) one . Any recommendations anyone?

Odd. I can't figure it out, but this is how it appears on 2 different machines I've looked at these forums with. Everyone else's avatars appear fine. I guess it's no big deal if it's just me then.

Good and free? No such thing. Acceptable and free? Maybe...

I use the webspace my ISP gave me with my cable. Didn't your ISP give you free webspace?

Also, all avatars working fine here...
