Hi,

Pressing CTRL+R after some coloured text does not reverse it properly. Instead it sets all text after to appear as white text on a black background. This bug has been apparent for as long as I can remember and although it's a very minor issue, I think it would be nice to have it fixed for compatibilities sake if nothing else (it works properly in some other clients). smile

Thanks,

Actually it uses the background colour as the text colour and the normal text colour as the background colour.
I stand corrected. smile

Even so, I take it this is not intentional behaviour?
I'd have to disagree with you. mIRC created the color standard that is in use today. If a client does something differently than mIRC, that client is incorrect. This "bug" has been in mIRC ever since control-codes were implemented. It's not a bug, it's just that CTRL+R overrides CTRL+K.
It would be nice of Ctrl+R reversed the line color, or any preceeding Ctrl+K colors, the same way that Ctrl+B makes the font bold without reverting to default text color first.

That is, if someone has a Ctrl+R in their Real Name (gecos field) of their /Whois, I would like to see it in white text on an orange background... because my normal /whois text is orange text on a white background.

This is not only how many other clients handle mIRC Colors, but also how other clients have handled ANSI colors for decades.

Heh, ok. All I was doing it just pointing out that this isn't a bug, no matter what other clients do. smile

Perhaps you should post this in Feature Suggestions, if it hasn't already been. I wouldn't hold my breath for the change, though, because I'm sure it's already been suggested, and like I said... it's been like this ever since control-codes were implemented.
