Hello,

I tried today to replace my 7.38 release of mirc by the new 7.41, but I remarked that I could not dcc chat my eggdrops anymore on the irc. Downgrading to the 7.38: it worked again. Any clue?

Do you have strict firewall rules? When upgrading software, it's possible your firewall rules don't carry over to the new version, sensing that the executable has changed.

This might include Windows Firewall, your favorite Anti-virus, Anti-malware, Internet security suite software.

Do you rely on UPnP to establish chat with your bots?

Are you or they IPv6?

Another possibility? Do you have Passive DCC enabled?

Alternately, try /ctcp botnick CHAT

It seems not to be a problem of firewall. The /chat command does not work on mirc 7.41 (on my computer....) although it works fine with the old 7.38 version. If you have mirc 7.41 and dcc works on your computer, please let me know. At this moment, I have been staying with 7.38 until this issue is fixed.

7.41 handles DCC events just fine on my end.

Did you try disabling both the firewall and the anti-virus software you run and then try establishing a DCC connection once again?

I'll just chime in and say dcc chat is the same as normal for me on 7.41

Averell: The other suggestion was to have the bot send you the chat request. Most of the time, this is made possible by sending /ctcp BotNick chat

Hello everybody,

the issue seemed now fixed, but I don't really know why I had this problem before, and why I haven't got it anymore. Maybe it was a firewall issue, indeed.

Anyway, I thank everybody for your help.
