Who's "mIRC Online Timer" has been running longest? Let's see who is the most frantic mIRCer out there. smile Provide a screenshot for evidence. It could still be faked, but come on, what's the point in doing that? This whole competition is stupid and meaningless as it is. wink

Anyway, here's mine:

It was intended as a lighthearted and silly contest. So the point wasn't exactly how long I've been online, but rather to establish who has the record. Do you understand?

those are 23.000 wasted hours. almost 3 years online, not counting the time you sleep, work etc is way too much. you cold try doing something else useful if you like spending time at a computer, like learning a programming language, java c++ c#, video design, audio editing etc.
life is short. live it, or at least spend it wise smile

Lol. True, though you don't have to be at your computer for that time to accrue. My computer is on undernet and irchighway 24/7 and has only been offline perhaps 10-15 days in the past few years. I'm really only on IRC myself a few hours a day.

I've got a small network that's online 24/7 (although at times it seems longer) and has 6 computers connected to it. The last time I had them all go off line, was due to a thunderstorm a couple of months back, which knocked out the phone line, breaking the DSL connection.

P.S.: You ask for a screenshot, but what if you don't have the equipment, or the knowledge to take a screen shot? then what?

RusselB,

As far as I know, and I am happy to be proven wrong here, but every Windows-capable key-board has the "Print Screen" key. "Alt-PrintScrn" will copy the active window to the clipboard.

In addition, unless I am sadly mistaken, Windows comes with a graphics editor pre-installed - to which you can then paste the contents of the clipboard. Now, I know that MSPaint may not be exciting to some, but it is at least adequate to do this job!

Cheers,

DK

this is all pretty silly reallly since by adjusting the mirc.ini you could fake your time i would assume, or adjusting the time might do it even. worst case just edit the BMP your make.

I been connected for 9999999999:99:99

Whats that you say? 99 misn 99 seconds makes no sence?!!?!?! ummm wellll; errr, oh i hear mum calling me i got to go.....

my main client:

Auto starts with windows when i wake up, and goes off with the computer when i go to bed

my bot:

Thats on pretty much 24/7 apart from power and net outages. If you noticed the difference in windows styles its because i'm using winxp but the bot is on an old 2k machine in the corner.

Forgot such a feature existed, had to search for it even smile

Current timer: 23956:01:26 -> 2y8m25d, would be online since 28/01/2003 if it were 100% uptime
Last reset on: Thu Sep 05 23:36:42 2002 -> 3y1m16d

The big advantage of using mIRC on WinMe: everytime Windows crashes, you can ctrl-alt-del and kill everything but mIRC and then /run explorer to get your desktop and taskbar back smile Haven't needed that feature since WinXP though.

Got my cable modem end November 1999, so I guess I installed a new mIRC instead of copying the old version in September 2002. Probably after a Linux experiment smile
Must have taken me at least a year before I decided to keep my pc running 24/7 to get rid of that daily waiting for it to boot.

Oh well, </nostalgic>

ps: if you don't believe any of this, don't click here because it can be forged too smile

You're still in the KULeuven I see (the ftp link), what do you study there? Informatica?

I graduated there (TEW), and my login is about to expire so I'll be out of internet for a while, aww frown

EDIT: LOL I saw at Loveno that you're there too, and there was a thread about people studying Informatica. Iets aan het bijstuderen?
