* Mentality runs around in circles

I like the new 'Sort' feature and whilst I won't directly benefit from the SSL support, I have already seen quite a few people in various channels online saying how cool it is that mIRC now supports it smile

As ever, thanks to Khaled, Krejt and everyone involved for this new version! smile

lol I wonder if that's the reason for the jump.

mIRC update day is better than Christmas or my birthday ..
hey that should be a holiday .. mIRC Update Day smile

Edit: I guess another reason for the jump could
be that 6.13 trojan that was going around ?

The features I (and others most likely) will enjoy the most are:

59./.hop now hides display of hop message.
60.The /echo -sa swiches can now be used at the same time.
64.The switchbar now displays scroll buttons when it is vertical and
unable to fully show all windows. The mouse wheel can be used to
scroll through the window list.
78.Added Sort dialog to Window Menu, allows you to specify the sort
order of Switchbar buttons and Windows.
86.Script errors can now be caught by adding an :error goto point to
your script. When an error occurs, the script will jump to :error
and continue running.

$error returns the error message. You can reset the error with
/reseterror. If you don't reset the error, it will propagate
backwards to any calling aliases until an :error is found and
will halt the script.

Numbers 64 78, and 86 specifically I love. So nice >:D

GJ Khaled!

I was wondering why 6.13 was skipped...
Posted By: Raccoon Re: YEEE! New Version! 6.14 Bweeee! - 04/03/04 01:19 AM
As people have posted above; probably for 2 reasons.

[*] "mirc613" is a known trojan virus that was spread to unsuspecting users several months ago.
[*] silly superstition. same reason elevators don't stop at the 13th floor. smirk

You will always find the latest version of mIRC, here.

PS. Thank you Khaled. We all love v6.14 and can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!

Do they not? I've never come across that, here, in the UK. How bizarre smile

I don't think elevators skip the 13th .. in most cases,
the building itself will skip the 13th floor .. as in having
12a & 12b instead of 13 .. or just skip it altogether and
jump from 12 to 14 .. superstition can be a powerful thing.

Well there's also been a 6.14 trojan!

See this thread about it.

PM
The software follows some procedures.
One of them is related with version name.
Well the version depends on the evolution the software "sofred" in the evolution process. (big evolution, bigger version nº)
As you can see version 6.14 has a lot more stuff than the version 6.12 or 6.11.

I belive now you understand it better

Hehe... that explaination is worse than NullSoft's explaination of Winamp 5.

Q. "Why did you guys jump from Winamp 3 to Winamp 5?"
A. "After the release of Winamp 3, users expressed their preference to the simplicity of Winamp 2... so we thought we'd combine the two (2 + 3) to make Winamp 5." (paraphrasing)
well i agree that one is also too much for me.
the 1º numbers must alwais be used after the . i agree that can have some jumps
I thought that the even numbers meant a "fixed" release while the odd numbers meant a "testing/trial/new feature" release or something like that. (btw: a convention not some archaic law!)

Cheers,

DK
You live in Canberra and call yourself Darwin Koala?
true also, but my point is also true.
Now try to make a merge of this 2 smile

i know it is confusing, sometimes i don't know the version i must give to my addons wink
