Forums Connection Issues Keeps Disconnecting - Win8

Hi All

I've used Mirc for years without any problems but I've recently switched to a new laptop with Windows 8 64 bit and now my connection keeps dropping.

This is just on Mirc not so not a laptop issue.

I'm using Mirc 7.34 and my AV is McAfee, in addition I also have Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I used both of these together on my old laptop. They are not causing any problems that I'm aware of, so not sure if they are causing my Mirc problem or if Windows 8 is or something else is the issue.

Can anyone give me some advice?

Additional facts:

I've tried the following servers:
Dalnet, EFnet, Undernet and IRCnet. All have the same problem. Connection lasts for awhile and then disconnects.

The connection stays for about 5 minutes up to 30 minutes. Sometimes the connection does go slow when I am connected with what appears like a freeze and then a load of messages can come at once.

No other changes other then the laptop change. I've running the same software on both besides the o/s. The broadband provider and router also remain the same. My old laptop is still working fine for Mirc.
