I just got a new modem (Westell ethernet) and now I am not able to dcc send. I had an USB modem before this one and it worked fine. Windows firewall is off. I am running Kerio firewall but it's on "permit" for mIRC. I wonder if it has to do with my NIC (Intel)? Please help.

Thank you for your reply.

I went to your site and followed the directions until I got to where I type in the ip address of my router. It didn't work. I don't have a router but I put in my modem's ip address. It came up an error page.

Don't know what to do from here.

The fact your modem has a different ip address from you, leads me to beleive it is a router also. Why it did not display a page i do not know for a fact, but suspect your using the wrong ip.

Here is a simple method to test if u have a router, almost never fails, in mirc while connected type in....

/localinfo -h
<wait 5 seconds>
//echo my lan ip is $ip
<wait 5 seconds>
/localinfo -u
<wait 5 seconds>
//echo my internet ip is $ip

Now if the LAN one of them comes out looking like something like 10.0.0.2 or 192.168.0.100 really anything in the range 10.0.0.??? and 192.168.???.??? means u have a router.

Now your routers Ip might not be what you expect it to be, so heres one way to get it, in mirc type /RUN CMD this opens a dos box, in that black box, type IPCONFIG /all
Look for the adapter with the IP the same as u got above as your LAN one, then look near that for a GATEWAY ip, that well be the ip of your router.

If this doesnt all pan out, come back with the make and model of the modem.

Did exacty what you told me. My LAN came out to be 192.168.***.***
My gateway ip is the same as my LAN except for the last 3 digits. When I go to a website and check my ip, it's totally different than my LAN ip.

When I connect to mIRC and check the local info, my internet ip shows up. Not my LAN ip. But if I type /localinfo -h, it changes to my LAN ip but I still cannot send.

My modem is Westell C90 610030-06.

Thank you.

*UPDATE

I did get into the website for port forwarding. I changed the ports to 10051 and 10070 w/ a base port of 10051. Did the same in mIRC and still I cannot dcc send.

So u do have a router after all eh.

Oh dont worry about telling anyone ya lan ip, its not like it means anything to the internet, mines 192.168.0.6, they are relitive only to your machine(s).

i would check the windows firewall is not active on the nic being used.

I checked the windows firewall and it's off. I went into the advance portion of it and made sure nothing was checked for the NIC.

In mIRC, I have the default port as 6667. Does that make a difference? This is frustrating.

*UPDATE*

It's working now! I typed /localinfo -u and it started to dcc send. Now, do I have to type this in every time I connect to mIRC?

Thanks for the help!!
