You might want to see
this thread because it has most, if not all, of the possibilities to cover up your real IP/hostname. Unfortunately, most of the time (unless the network supports +x) it will cost money to cover up your IP/hostname with a Shell account. In reality it's not going to do you any harm for people to know your ISP even if your hostname reveals quite a lot of information about where you live.
If that thread is confusing then you may want to use the
Search feature and use a search term such as 'BNC' or 'Shell'.
