if you use /hop with a channel behind (/hop #voks),
the channelname will also be displayed in the partmessage.

When you /hop, it pertains to the current channel that you are in. Anything after /hop is sent as a part message and relayed to the channel in that manner, as if you were quitting.

I also experiance this.

Try playing around with how your script is set out (I assume you're using /hop as a script command as manually typing it seems to work), I found it behaved differently if I put it on a line by itself (without { or } or |) - which is very weird.

This isn't really a bug of mIRC, but mainly the DALnet server.

If you find a channel that is set to "Sticky Topics", go into that channel [if it isn't restricted and you're not akicked, otherwise access doesn't matter] type in the text-bar "//hop | //topic #somechannel blah blah", and copy it (without quotes).

This will cycle you through the channel and back, when it does that, quickly paste the "//hop | //topic #somechannel blah blah" and do it again. This allows you to change the topic in a channel with "Sticky Topics" even if you aren't a SOp/AOp/Founder.

wink

ParaBrat and I have just tested your "problem"; as it turns out, the only thing that will happen is that you're going to be kicked and banned for join/part flooding the channel. However, I don't mind if you get yourself banned or kicked from channels. smirk

neither do i  This is, however, a good opportunity to point out that typing everything anyone tells you to can get you into a lot of trouble.

I would also encourage anyone who thinks they have found an ircd bug to report it to the proper ppl at the network involved rather than trying to encourage others to abuse something. We ARE a help forum after all.

I must've forgotten to mention that the channel has to be empty...

If no one is there and you aren't akicked and/or it isn't a restricted channel in some manner, it will work.

so nyeh! :P
if dalnet actually worked, I'd do it again and paste it here.
