The help file states that $window().mdi returns a $true/$false value, but it can return $null, either the help file or the behavior should be changed.

Thought $window() could see channel window from a different connection but that's not the case, so it's just returning $null for non existing windows. Perhaps it's fine to leave the help file like that because the behavior is most likely consistent.
