Using -nowine does not change the behavior.

I reported this a few years back in WINE.

https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40960
I went to test and confirmed that in the last beta version 7.61.961 this problem does not happen.
I can replicate in the latest beta, 7.61.961. Which linux distro are you using? I can replicate Ubuntu (64-bit), Debian (64 bit) , Alpine Linux (32-bit).

I guess I should be asking, is mIRC doing something weird, undocumented, or? How does it work? Might be a bug in WINE?

mIRC is only compatible with Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10
Thanks for your bug report.

Note that, technically, anything that works differently in WINE would really need to be addressed by the WINE developers.

Although I have implemented quite a few code changes to cater for WINE issues in the past, this is usually a slow and time-consuming process, so it is not something I do often.

I have added this WINE issue to my to-do list and may look into it in the future.
Thank you.
