I have the latest mIRC update. I am having trouble with the mIRC icon staying on the taskbar. I have tried pinning the icon to the taskbar but I still get a disappearing icon. Is this a known bug? Or simply an issue on my end? I usually have Firefox and my printer/scanner opened.

Do you mean the system tray? If so, the icon is disappearing because that's how Windows 7 works. You can configure system tray icons to show/hide but clicking the little up arrow near the system tray and hitting Configure...
