Found 2 bugs that I think are worth a look.

I cannot open the mIRC editor with my RIGHT ALT key, ALT+R. However, it will open with my left ALT key. I have a DYNEX keyboard, not sure if it is an issue with the keyboard or windows driver that I am using.

The next bug I found was when closing mIRC and having the confirmation box enabled. If I click the "X" to close mIRC and my editor window is open, the editor will close, even if I choose not to close mIRC. This happens both if the editor is windowed in mIRC or if it is shown on the desktop.

These are not all that big, but they are still actions unexpected, nonetheless smile

The right alt key doesn't exist, there's alt on the left and "alt gr" on the right, but some keyboard seems to display a alt key on the right, mIRC used to handle alt gr as alt but it has been recently "fixed" since it's not a normal behavior

I reported the second problem already: https://forums.mirc.com/ubbthreads.php?ub...true#Post217016

I think this is related to the Right ALT key, https://forums.mirc.com/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/226945/page/8#Post226945

Actually, there IS a right ALT on US keyboards. Only a very few keyboard layouts in the US have an ALT GR key. I've only seen in on Acer laptops. And even on those, that key works as an ALT key anywhere that doesn't use ALT GR. As was mentioned before regarding this, it should either be optional or should be based on the keyboard layout chosen in Windows. mIRC should not force it to not work as an ALT key. I can't think of any other program that does this. Yes, it *may* be forced in countries where ALT GR is commonplace and where the software is designed primarily for them and not for international audiences. But not in software designed for international use, or at least not major software. It should either be changed back to what it was or it should be changed to optional or layout-based.

I couldn't find any thread on it so I couldn't remember what was said about, I thought it was fixed because the right alt didn't exist, sorry about that.
Btw, Khaled said in Kindone's link that it will look for a way to handle both by looking at the keyboard's configuration so it shouldn't be a problem anymore.

As of 7.19, you cannot click Right ALT to open a menu or do anything else that uses ALT, so no... it's not fixed yet.

I didn't say it was fixed, I said it's not a problem anymore

That seems like that same thing, but I guess I'm misunderstanding your meaning. If you mean that it's on the list of things to fix or that it won't be a problem after it's fixed, then yes, I agree. But right now, it's still a problem for anyone who wants to use right ALT and will remain a problem until it's fixed. I don't use it that often, but there are times when I have a hand full (eating, drinking, whatever) and so hit that instead and hearing the error beep instead of getting what I expect is rather annoying. smile
