just messing around one day in a channel, and found that if you use lots of color codes.. somewhere around.. 150+ or so.. not sure on actual value, it brings mirc to a complete hault, eating up all processor power. Only way i have found to fix it is opening task manager and closing it that way.

I tried 300 codes per line over ten lines and mIRC stayed up. Maybe your machine needs some maintenance.
