the flashing, when u right click a channel button, and uncheck it, if u minimise mirc, or switch windows ro something will RECHECk flashing for some weird reason...

I cannot confirm this: mIRC 6.14/XP pro.

Tried changing windows, pressing minimise button and minimising to tray.
