It seems that the Edit button was deleted in 6.14. (Yes, double-click works, but the button is missing.)
Hmm? I have an edit button in notify.
if you mean the notify icon, yes. but alt+b and the notify tab still has that function.
No, Horse, my friend - some copies of 6.14 still have the Edit button in alt+B, but it's missing in some. We've checked a few and there's no rhyme or reason - some have it, some don't. Almost as if there are 2 version 6.14s. Maybe the betas had it but the final release doesn't? I don't know - but a few of us have confirmed that we don't have it.
It's missing here. Never noticed it. Weird. i guess as long as the double click still works it's ok, but I'd REALLY like that edit button back personally. mirc 6.14/win2k pro sp3
Here the same - Button missing.
//echo $file($mircexe).size - $crc($mircexe) - $md5($mircexe,2) $version
1937408 - 7D359117 - 31f010fcf0b67737b04f3b8f2c2639f5 - 6.14
button missing.
//echo -a $file($mircexe).size - $crc($mircexe) - $md5($mircexe,2) - $version
1937408 - 7D359117 - 31f010fcf0b67737b04f3b8f2c2639f5 - 6.14
Well I DO have an Edit button. I get the exact same results as above so I guess that disproves he two versions theory...
//echo -a $file($mircexe) - $crc($mircexe) - $md5($mircexe,2) - $version
1937408 - 7D359117 - 31f010fcf0b67737b04f3b8f2c2639f5 - 6.14
XPpro sp1a + all updates
Interesting.
The edit button is definitely on the form, but it is invisible from view when I look at the Address Book's Notify tab. I am guessing there is some other state which is causing this. Perhaps the number of Notify entries or even Nick Color entries... it could really be anything.
First one to figure it out gets a cookie!
mIRC v6.14 on Win98SE
//echo $file($mircexe).size - $crc($mircexe) - $md5($mircexe,2) - $version
1937408 - 7D359117 - 31f010fcf0b67737b04f3b8f2c2639f5 - 6.14
Racoon - mine only has 41 entries in the notify list and the colors tab has 11 entries. I doubt it has anything to do with it, tho we never know (until it's fixeds)
EDITED
As a side note, the edit button is most certainly in my mirc.exe file under the dialog info for that screen, but it's not
visible when mirc is run.
edit button is visible to me on v6.14, win98se, no color tab entries
might help if everyone includes your OS (altho that doesnt seem to matter from what i've seen) and if you checked on scriptless vanilla mIRC as well.
It's missing here.
Win98, mIRC 6.14 without any scripts.
Tried to change a lot of setting, add and remove entries to my notify list, but couldn't find a way to make the button visible. Double-click works fine though.
I have the edit display. os windows 98. have loaded a clean version of mirc (did not even copy .ini file across) and still got edit button. and on my usual mirc i have colors, tons of scripts, and a huge notify list.. still have edit box.. Im beginning to feel this may be something in windows settings that is interacting with mirc.. This one is def. for the coders and testers to work on.
32 Notifies, 10 colors + Button.
A second copy of mIRC with no scripts/notifies/colors/anything also has the Edit button.
OS listed above.
consolidated info:
Notify List: 41 entries
Colors tab: 11 entries
OS: Win2kpro sp3
mIRC: 6.14
Vanilla mirc: Edit button still GONE
Win XP sp1, mirc 6.14, just 11 entries, no colors, a few scripts: No Edit button.
win2k sp3
3 notifies, no colors, no scripts, no edit button
Linux (running mIRC via wine (win98 'emulation'))
No notifies, 8 self-written scriptlets, bizarre 'edit' button behaviour.
The button was absent before I entered my registration info and then appeared after inputting said reg. info. Is it the case that those who have not input reg. info. are missing the 'edit' button?
1937408 - 7D359117 - 31f010fcf0b67737b04f3b8f2c2639f5 6.14
WinXP Pro SP1 - I have an edit button, no probs
Is it the case that those who have not input reg. info. are missing the 'edit' button?
No, mine is registered and the edit-button is missing.
WinXP Home SP1 - no button
This has been fixed for the next version.
