i'm not quite sure this could be called a 'bug', but i thought i should post it here:

Code:

/echo www.mirc.com
/timer 1 3 echo bug?
*right click on the link*

after the timer is activated, click on 'open in new browser' and nothing will happen. i was told mIRC has that problem with hotlinks in general (not only websites), but i haven't tried it with any other hotlinks.

take care.

Hmm..it still opens for me.

OS: Win XP (Pro)

mIRC version: 6.12

Browser: Internet Explorer

Make sure you test on 6.12, just incase you're not. When reporting a bug, it's important to include which mIRC version and sometimes what OS, and perhaps in this case which browser. I tested this three times to see if it worked, and the browser window opened with the site all 3 times. I also tested with another URL and it still worked.

Happy chatting smile

Did you try right-clicking *before* "bug?" is echoed, *then* selecting one of the options? Because this is what happens with any mIRC version here (win98se btw) - the popup is simply ignored. The same occurs also when right-clicking channel names, nicks and everything else.

It seems mIRC doesn't know what I right-clicked anymore when a new line appears in the meantime.

Ah, I was thrown by "after the timer is activated" - I right clicked after it was activated, not after the timer ended.

Now I re-do it, yes, it doesn't work frown

Yes, old problem going back several versions at least, most easily seen when a link appears in channel, is right clicked, but a new line appears pushing the clicked line up the screen before the new/existing window option is chosen.

Makes following a link in a busy channel a challenge - usually solved by scrolling up so that new lines don't move earlier text up the screen.

Using mIRC 6.12 with Win98se or WinMe (depending on location) here.

True, forgot to point this out, it's an old issue indeed.
