<esc> hotkey - 18/02/22 10:09 PM
/options/other/ "escape key minimizes window"
Curious if there are other users who would prefer if there was a 3rd option to do neither of the current behaviors?
Right now the only choices are to have <esc> clear the editbox or minimize the active window.
I know the existing behavior allows hiding all your windows by repeatedly pressing <esc>, but a 3rd option behavior could either be to disable the <esc> from either of the 2 hotkey behaviors against a #channel or @window but retain it for $dialog or /options. Sometimes I end up with an extra <esc> from closing /options, dialog, topmenu, etc. which ends up acting against the active channel window.
Since the choice is currently to either have <esc> hide the active window among the other icons in the treebar/switchbar, or to lose everything you're in the middle of type, my choice is that I'd rather hunt for the window again than having to retype the editbox text again.
