The current option to make mIRC not interfere with script issued and managed IRC connections is a socket connection. The trouble is then that the script has to do it all itself.

It would be useful if mIRCs connection options (connection retry, reconnect, etc) could be set to not apply to certain status windows.

Like it is now, if a remote disconnection happens, mIRCs options can let it reconnect outside control of the script, which implies the use of the script requires disabling of mIRCs related options, and that for all connections, regardless created by script, other scripts or mIRC's menu. It's an all or nothing.

If /server had a switch that tells mIRC to not apply those settings to that status window, then the user could make server windows and other connections using mIRCs menu-whatever, and they wouldn't interfere with script managed ones.
