IMO, we should be able to use the icon resources of an .exe for the custom buttons on the menubar. And allow .ico files too. After all, it is about icon size............

You mean the toolbar? If so, that's already possible:

-nN = icon index in picfile

Specify an index and an executable file as the image to use.

Though this should probably get its own post, it is related: BMP Icon scaling. Yes, one can adjust the pixel range, but it seems only Ico/DLL/EXE files will allow size adjustment. Correct me if I'm wrong. Hardly the most critical of features though, so you can feel free to ignore me.
