well if you know about it, why don't you use it?

whats the point of ON DEBUG if theres already a method to handle such an event.

thats like asking for khaled to change raw 311 to ON 311, therest just no point.

alias debugger {
/debug -i @_debug debug_
/window -nh @_debug
}

alias debug_ {
.signal debug $1-
}

on *:SIGNAL:DEBUG: {
/echo -s DEBUG: $1-
}

There's your ON DEBUG.

Well, you're wrong.

https://forums.mirc.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=featuresuggestions&Number=26046
"Those who post ideas, here's a guide you can follow:
[...]
* Would it be easy to write a script for my idea?
If it's something that is very easy to do with scripts, chances are it won't be built into mIRC. (This isn't always the case, but should be considered when posting your idea.)

If you still feel like your idea is worthwhile (and it probably is), post away! You should be prepared for criticism that will hopefully improve on your idea."

I guess you were prepared already, you also considered the fact that your idea is totally and easily scriptable. Therefore, some pointed the obvious to you, but you asked for it, by the way you presented your suggestion.

However, you still ended up calling them idiots..

https://forums.mirc.com/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=mirchelp&Number=5
"e) Be considerate and polite of other posters."

..and I wonder how didn't you break this guideline.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but a rule was indeed broken. We do not tolerate name calling here and any posts that do so will be edited. We expect users to treat each other with, at the very least, common courtesy. If you disagree with something a moderator edits, feel free to pm us to discuss it, but i suggest you refrain from reposting the same thing.

Further, as a moderator, part of my responsibilities is to edit posts that are offensive or delete them in their entirety. So, if you are offensive i will NOT refrain from editing your posts. In addition, since i have been here since before the first forum was opened to the public, i will also NOT "be on your way"
Posted By: EVH Re: a christmas wish - 28/12/03 08:52 PM
It wasn't name calling .. it was just an observation.

You said it right there .. it's a guideline, not a rule and the idiot part was an observation, not name calling. Also, I was polite,
even though I observed their stupidity and commented on it ..
I still wished them a Merry Christmas, which I am doing the
same for you and ParaBrat although still with the same observation as with the other two. Happy Holidays wink
Posted By: Mentality Re: a christmas wish - 28/12/03 09:21 PM
Perhaps your parents/guardians didn't teach you, but if you have an "observation" that is likely to offend the people it's aimed at, or anger other people, then you keep it to yourself and do not share it on a public forum. Obviously calling someone an "idiot" or some other derogatory term towards their intelligence is likely to offend.

As you can see, it IS a rule that you be considerate to others, because if it was not a rule then your post(s) wouldn't be edited or deleted.

Now instead of causing arguments, why don't you grow up, and preferably (and privately) apologise to the people who you've been rude to?

Somehow however, it's more likely you'll reply with some smart ass answer thinking you're being clever smile - Either way, this is the full extent of my reaction towards your bad attitude and rudeness, so don't think you're going to start some long argumentative tirade with me, I just wanted to get my opinion and "observations" across wink

Merry Christmas.

Regards,

Rethorical arguments won't work here. However, discussing this any further won't work either. Bye, then..

*sigh* sure..thats your story, you just go right ahead and stick to it. End of pointless thread
