i have written a script which i run through mIRC so it acts as a bot but i want to host it as i can not leave my PC online all the time. the bot currently runs from my computer. i know people with servers who said i can use them if i want but not sure how i get the client to connect once its uploaded to the server? i also wanted to know if it had to be a certian kind of server or required any extra software or hardware.

Thanks guys.

It will run on any Windows server that is owned by someone that will approve of the bot. What you then need to do is either trust the owner to kick the bot in the guts for you or ask the owner to trust you with a remote control programme like VNC.

set the bot to join server and channel on startup. The owner of the server could then add a shortcut to your bots mirc.exe and it woudl start up with the server.
