Dont you mean online bot ?? there is no point in having an 'offline' bot.

If you want a bot that working like Q or L, then you need a connection that are online 24/7, maybe you can aks a friend that have that type of connection, then depending on what operativ system he using you can start look for a bot, best would be to have a eggdrop on a linux/unix computer, or a windrop for Windows. If you like to use mirc for it, then you maybe can find somthing on mircscripts.org, all depending on what you want to use the bot for, only for op, then it is easy to make one, if you want other fetures that are more complex then it will be harder to do.

7 years ago we called it an 'Offline bot', since the bot is online while you is offline so that's the only name I know it by.

I have a server that's running 24/7, so the connection is no problem.
I want it to be the same as the one I have for QuakeNet; it stays online while I'm offline, records messages and the channels I'm in so I don't miss out on any info in the channels or any PMs.
So the bot is just going to sit there, pretending to me me really, not do any actions, no away messaging etc.
I've checked the mircscripts page, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

You want an irc bouncer

As Loki told you it's named BNC (Bouncer), when you connect it often say "Welcome to ****" where the stars are the name of the bnc, i my self only used Psy Bnc when i used one, so try find out the name of the bnc you using since they all have different commands.

Oki, thought bouncer was something slightly different.
Mien has no name. It was made by me and a friend many many years ago when I was a bit more compatible then now :P

We talking aboout bnc? Since you say you made it? You connect to the bnc that "bounce" you to irc? You using the server:

/server ip.to.bouncer port

And that one relay your connection to the "real" irc server address?
