Hello, I am using mIRC via WINE on Linux and I was wondering what would be the best way to get information from a linux application? ie. music info from rhythmbox (player)

I believe your options are to use a 3rd party DLL and/or COM objects.

I'm sorry to say that this is about the limit of my knowledge regarding these options.

I've heard (but never tested) that COM objects don't work with WINE, so that may not be an option.

You are correct. WINE's com support is minimal to say the least if at all.

There are plugin here: http://live.gnome.org/RhythmboxPlugins/ThirdParty that allow you to either write the new song's informations to a xml file, or to copy them to the clipboard, you should be able to get the informations from mirc then.
