I was wondering if you could use sockets to connect to XML pages. Would you have to change the HTTP 1.0 to XML 1.0? And do you need to change the port? When you finnaly connect, and you want it to find text, would you search for a line of XML, and how would you set it into a variable. Does the $htmlfree() take out the brakets? Sorry for the many questions.

No, the http port stays the same, xml is more like html, except it's a data orientated document structure rather than a stylised one.
