hey, i am cennected to the server and can join and all that stuff no problem, but when i go to part the channel, my name leaves the room, but the channel window doesnt close, is there any reason for this, and how do i fix it. please

Do you perhaps have a custom /part alias?

//echo -a $islias(part)

Press ALT-O -> IRC and untick: Keep channels open

When a user parts the channel regularly, that feature doesn't apply:

Keep channels open
This will keep a channel window open even if you are disconnected from the server, or kicked from a channel.

when i am kicked the channel window closes, but when i just do a norma "/part $chan" then i leave the channel, but the window remains, and it doesnt look like i actually left the room

/debug on
and see if the server sends you PART message
(mIRC closes the window when gets this message)

ahh, thanks that jelped, see i was sockwriting to the channel socket, so it would part the channel, but i was fogetting to also write to the server socket at the same time, now it works

our ircd developer also forgot about that when he created a new chanmode, but that's long story

how was that done? I'd like to keep my windows open after I get force-parted by IRCd...
