I live in Switzerland and i want to connect on to a server in Slovenia, because most of my friends live there!
Whenever i try to get in to these servers, i get a message saying unathorised user! these servers are :
ircarnes.si
irc.link.si

Once you are connected to the network (whatever that is) type /links - this will give you all available servers. Choose one nearest to your geographical location. Also type /motd and goto the networks homepage - there you will find a list of available servers for that particular network.

You want to be with your friends, then you only need to be on the same network as they are. It isn't necessary to be on the exact same server. Do as Merlin suggests above.
