OK so to be as helpful as I can I am running windows 10 with Norton security on comcast ISP and the other day windows updated and now when I try to connect to anything I can connect but then it freezes there. It doesn't seem to get or function on any of my commands. The server site is up I can see that it has links to use for mIRC to connect with but they also don't work. Can someone please help me Im going a little crazy here. Thanks in advance.

You might have to create a firewall rule to allow outbound connections from mIRC.exe. What happens when you -temporarily- turn Norton firewall off? Is there anything that shows up in the Norton logs relating to mIRC.exe that shows it is being blocked?
