mIRC Homepage
Alright.. irc was all weird and such and alot of the servers for dalnet have been messed up except the select few. Now with these select few I am able to connect and while nickserv is doing the whole nick stuff I'm just disconnected and theres no akill message or anything. Is it my router?? Or what??
If you simply get disconnected then mIRC should leave some sort of message in the status window.
Thats not always the case though....It has happened to me before but it was because of a timeout....I have my settings on auto reconnect so it doesn't affect my chatting much cause im instantly connected....alot of the time the message i get in the status window is just plain old "Disconnected"...nothing major im guessin but hey as long as im back chatting then im not that pissed about it LOL smile
Hmmm, you're right, because that can happen when you are z:lined. Perhaps in cases like that (and where mIRC feels something similar is happening) there is no way for it to tell why.
thats what im thinkin LOL
Not that I have been z:lined recently of course. hehe
ok well I can't even connect long enough to chat or do anything I'm there then I'm gone just as fast
Try another server and see if the same thing happens. You should be able to get a list of servers from the website owned by the network you use.
i have that website and its the same with all those servers listed
Have you tried other IRC servers? (on differant networks)?

It may be something specific to that network. (And if so - contact them for support)

I have tired other servers like efnet and it does the same [censored] and its not my provider or my router so what? hell i've even deleted and redownloaded irc
Check to see if your router is blocking any 'services'. Routers regard applications that connect to the net as a 'service'. I know that normally you'd not be able to connect at all if it was infact blocked but stranger things have happened, it's still worth checking.
but see it does this even when my router isn't connected and if it is my router how do i check?
Ahhhh fair enough, can't be the router then. Have you tried another copy of mIRC or even another chat programme?
you get no messages saying why/how you were disconnnected?
