i have a dsl connection with a netgear router. before installed my router i could both dcc send and recieve. now that i installed my router, i cant send but i can recieve. when i try to send it says failed to connect so i was wondering if anyone knew how to stop the router from blocking it. by the way its an MR814v2
i think Khaled should put in big red letters on the front page:
routers + mIRC dcc = problems
or
if you use a router don't install mIRC unless u know how the router works!
Regards to the problem, i dunno, i don't have a router. This was just your typical rant...
(edit: i even went to the extent of hiring another IP address from my ISP to allow my 2 machines to connect to the net so i didn't have to get a router and have that kind of trouble)
uhhh .. routers offer more than just a method of running
multiple pc's on one connection .. it's also great security
on hardware level.
lupin_modder: look up port range forwarding for your dcc
problems and port triggering for ident in your router manual.
