I'm sorry to say that installing version 6.1 of MIRC didn't solve the default browser problem for me. I'm sad.

I use Crazy Browser and even after the recent install of 6.1 I still have IE opening when I click on a link in a channel.

If I click on a .HTML or .HTM file on my desktop Crazy Browser opens as it should. Also if I click on a link in an e-mail or an instant messanger window Crazy Browser opens.

Only MIRC seems to have this problem. I've tested this on two computers, both Win2k, both had the previous version of mirc on them and had mirc 6.1 installed into the same directory keeping the settings. Both have Crazy Browser installed as their default broswer, but both get IE when a link is clicked in MIRC.

Thanks!

If you use the other browser, why not simply uninstall IE?

I can't uninstall IE because Crazy Browser uses the IE HTML render engine to show you web pages. Good thought though, thanks!

I use Crazy Browser and even...

But is the new browser your 'default' one or do you just run it manually as a replacement browser?

Crazy Browser is my default browser.

In my earlier post I mentioned that if I click a link in any other problem (explorer, AIM, outlook) crazy browser is started. Only in mIRC is IE started.

yep i have same problem, except i use NETCAPTOR, in folder options and everywhere else but mirc netcaptor is my default broswer for htm, html, and all that. But it opens IE in mirc. I did notice that if i do /run www.yahoo.com in mirc it opens with netcaptor, if i do /url www.yahoo.com it opens in IE.
