This has probably been asked before.

I have mutliple copies of mirc on my computer and I only want one of them password protected. Is there anyway of making it so only the one I want is PP? smile

Nope, a password set for mIRC is stored in a system wide section in the registry. This causes the password to be set for all copies of mIRC on your PC.

This is a long shot but why not install another copy in another directory and password protect that?
Just a thought. grin

But that still password protects all copies on the computer. frown

why cant the registry store the path to the executable for password protection? it seems to me that would solve many issues with this. unless thats just not possible?

and how would that work? have a key named..

C:\Program Files\mirc?

So the final path is

HKLM\Software\Mirc\
"C:\Program Files\Mirc"="password"?
