Any time someone tries to send me something, anything, I can't receive it. I already turned off the WinXP Firewall, turned off DCC ignore, set it to accept *.*, and tried anything in the threads here with titles about DCC that might work. I always get this on my DCC window:
Quote:
Status: Accepting send
Connection failed

and in the status nothing but
Quote:
[14:31] -SendingUser- DCC Send untitled.bmp (SendingUserIP)

and no other error message.

Anyone else had and fixed this problem or just know what it is?

Edit:
Some system info that may matter:
OS - Windows XP Pro SP1
Firewall - Zone Alarm (mIRC is allowed)
Connection - 512k/192k DSL

Do you have a router? If so, which router?

Closest thing to a router I have is a DSL modem:
SMC ADSL Barricade Router SMC7401BRA

But I doubt that's it, because this only started to be a problem after I upgraded my PC hardware (mobo, cpu, vid), and reformatted my HDD and installed WinXP. That's why I figured at first it was just the WinXP firewall being stupid. But, that wasn't the case. Anyway, I can't access that little chip in the DSL modem or whatever anymore because I can't remember the default user/pass or the IP to access it (my ISP doens't want me doing so anyway).

Well it sounds as if the problem is the router. A router has what is called an NAT firewall in it. This firewall prevents all incomming connections unless you specifically allow it. What it looks like is, it is blocking the DCC request from being acknowledged. To fix this you need to change port forwarding settings, if you forgot the l/p to the router, there is usually a little "reset" button on the back that can reset it to the original password (which can be found in the manual). If you can't do that, then I can't really help you...

It's the same router I had before though, but then I was running Windows 2000 instead of XP. That makes no sense that now it's gonna block it and before it wasn't, since nothing involving the internet connection changed.

Did you make sure XP's built-in firewall is disabled (since you're using ZA)?
  1. Start button
  2. Settings
  3. Control Panel
  4. Network Connections
  5. Right-click your active internet connection
  6. Properties
  7. Advanced tab
  8. [ ] Protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the Internet.
If that checkbox is checked, uncheck it and click OK; otherwise it's already off, so just click Cancel.

Yes, as I said in my first post, it's off.
