Ok so i have been using mirc for about a year and all of a sudden this week I can't read a lot of things in the channel. For example when the actual channel window is not highlighted I can see that it has the channel name (EX. warez) but when i highlight it all i see is is a square or an o (can't tell which it is) for each letter. It is like this in the channel also.Like when it says trigger:Warez.....I will see trigger:00000.When i go to see how many queues and sends somebody has it will say type 00000 to see how many people this person is sending to.Instead of saying type sends to see how many people this person is sending to.Does anybody know what the problem is and can help me out?

Warez is illegal, you won't get help with it here. If you want software, music, movies, go and buy them.

I wasn't even talking about warez i was just using it as an example that i can't read what is in the channel.Do you want me to go back and edit it and say that it says dog food?

I don't care what you edit it to say. Personally I wish people who use warez wouldn't use IRC, so maybe someone else will help you, but I certainly won't.

I don't use warez <edit> The only time a download things is if it is strictly legal. You don't have to help me but you don't have to be a <edit> about it.I used it as an example because that is what irc is most famous for now.

I used it as an example because that is what irc is most famous for now.

I think infamous is a more accurate adjective since wares is hardly what one could call desireable, on IRC or anywhere. Wares, along with the virii that comes with it is the curse of the 'Net - full stop. There is no getting around it or trying to justify it by simply loitering in wares rooms.

Having said that, I am not acusing you of anything, just highlighting that illegal software is:

1. Not all it's cracked up to be. (excuse the pun)
2. At times unreliable/unstable.
3. At times riddled with virii/trojans...

:and at the same time I do not believe that IRC is the place for it.

Ok that is all good and well but i do not download illegal things off of irc.Could somebody get past this and help me with my problem?

Thanks for your insults, I'm sure someone is gonna really want to help you when they see how you act...

Whatever man....I came in here to get help.If you thought i was in the wrong somehow and didn't want to help me then you should have read my post and moved along but did you? No,you decide to post and think that I use IRC for illegal warez when I don't and make me look bad taking the attention away from my problem and onto what you believe. If you don't have anything helpful to say don't say anything at all

ok the simple answer to your question is this ..... ask the bot owner your tryin to download off of ..... these triggers and xdcc scripts they use are not whats internally built into mirc ..... so u ned to ask them why u cant see thier stuff

Just because you dont like a reply to you, that doesnt justify namecalling. Post using common courtesy in the future please.

Try checking your scripts and running a good virus scan

Looks like a font problem to me. In one of the offending channel windows, try resetting your font to FixedSys 9 with Alt-V or /font -a 9 FixedSys
