i am having resume problems.......
i can initiate a download from most places...with out much hassle, except those few that just wont go through...!

My problem lies in the resume stage......

For instance, i can start a 400meg download and start getting it. i stop after 1meg, and try to resume.....i then get the fatefull 'Set your client to recive DCC pending' msg!

how can this be, if i had just been downloading it? my connection works, cos i was just downloading.....i can overwrite the thing, but id rather not do that, especially f i have got 398 meg!...lol!

Me is well perplexed?....lol

ANY IDEAS?

cmon guyz, there must be someone out there that knows the solution to this problem!...

not sure if this is of any significance in ur situation but the person who's DCCing has to support resume for u to be able to continue a dload @ a later time. That could be why u can dload off some, and not others.

There's no need to post the same question on multiple forums. And this isn't real-time chat, it could be hours before someone gives you a satisfactory answer, be patient.

For all this talk of DCC you don't seem to be mention chatting. You are aware that mIRC is primarily a chat client aren't you? With that in mind downloading 400mb files using DCC is slow, inefficient, and if I remember correctly can lead to very heavy fragmentation of your hard drive.

As for your question I don't know the answer. Have you tried using the forum's Search feature?

Point 1: most servers that i have downloaded from do support resume...

Point 2: why mention problems with chatting, when i have no problems with chatting? it all works fine, i just have problems resuming downloads.

In answer to the fact that using mIRC and DCC is slow.......!!!!!
EH? some of my fastest speeds have been using mIRC....as for defragmentation.......isnt that what your system tools are for!

...It is worth mentioning that i use mIRC for legitimate purposes...for my business, i am a graphic/web designer, and shift large files around for print via mIRC....

1. there is no need at all to repeat your question in multiple forums.

2. you waited 4 whole minutes and demanded an answer? the ppl who help here are all volunteers and not sitting here 24/7. while you may get an immediate answer, you may also have to wait a few hours.

3. there are many,many,many threads here regarding resume. had you used the search feature here set to all forums and expanded the date range you would get better results. In fact, there have been a few just in the past week.

4. the problem could be on the senders end

5.NAT and ICS can muck up resume

1. I posted firstly in general discussion by accident.....so then proceded to move my querie to mirc help section...without deleting the general discussion post....( I aint tryin to make everybody see my message.)

2. I did not demand an answer within 4 minutes, i posted a retorical comment which i felt i wanted in my original post.
