When I am idling, or even NOT, or just connected for a few minutes, my mIRC doesn't response anymore and then I quit at the server (or more) with reason "Ping Timeout" or "Connection Reset by Peer". I know what those are, but why doesn't my mIRC response anymore when I just connected for a few minutens or are idling (for a few minutes!).

Further nothing else has any problems, msn not, internet not... Nothing just mIRC doens't response anymore. And yes, I have mIRC 6.35 (and already tried to uninstall it and again installed it. Doesn't seem to work).

Help? frown

Are you using ANY scripts?

Does mIRC totally freeze or what? (as in, could it be an infinite while-loop)

I'm only using a script with echo's (timestamps, kicks, bans). But I never had problems with that. And yes it totally freeze's.

And I just downloaded mIRC 6.16 and that DIDN'T freeze, but my laptop doesn't like that version anymore. There it does freeze when I open something (scripts editor, options..)

So it's something with the 6.35 :\

What is the disconnection message that shows in your status window when you lose your connectivity to the server?

I don't see any messages of disconnectings. Because my mIRC totally freezes. But I saw in 2 logs that at server nr 1 (I'm not gonna spam) I quitted with a Ping Timeout. And at nr2 I quitted with Connection reset by peer. And at the logs from my status it does say "* Disconnected". Just that.

Nothing is wrong with 6.35-- please install a *fresh* copy of mIRC with *no* scripts installed and try connecting to a server again.

I just tried that. Still doesn't repsonse after a few minutes

in your *completely clean* mIRC, type

//echo -a $os $version $md5($mircexe,2) $script(0) $dll(0) $com(0) $isdde($ddename)

and report the results here.

Also, are you using any Winamp (or WMP) plugins to show your current playing song in mIRC or similar dlls that send messages to mIRC?

XP 6.35 2f63a83968f9586fe4fb48134253619c 0 0 0 $true

And I haven't got any plugins with WMP or anything else. Also no dll's.

$script(0) cannot return 0, please do not change the result of the diagnostics commands you run as it makes it impossible for us to give you the right answer. Try the command again and this time report the exact output without modification.

I didn't changed it shocked. But I installed mIRC again and now it says:

XP 6.35 2f63a83968f9586fe4fb48134253619c 1 0 0 $true

And this version of mIRC freezes? Are you running any anti-virus programs or firewalls?

Also try typing /ddeserver off and see if that helps
