i've installed mIRC a few times as each time i do download it and try and input anything in the "options dialog" box ( name email etc ) it closes down. i dont know why this is happening plz somone help

thats certainly not normal behavior for mIRC. I would uninstall those you have installed and get a fresh copy from
here
Make sure nothing else is running when you do the install and put it in a clean directory. (you may also want click "how to install" at the left on this screen first)

i just tried that and it did not do anything. all the other downloads were deleted before

does anyone else know how i can overcome this problem?

did you uninstall the versions that gave this prob thru control panel or did you just delete the files?

have you run a good thorough virus scan?
