I've been using mIRC since 90's and like it more than the other clients I've tried (irssi, epic, vIRC, Miranda...). Periodically someone starts lecturing me about using a shell/screen and whining about jumping in & out when connection fails. One of these people claimed there's some solution for using mIRC via irssi screen.

I've tried to search the web for help in how to do this, but haven't found anything. It doesn't have to be irssi, but I'd like to have the benefits of screen that stays online all the time and usability of mIRC. I tried searching the forums first, but didn't find an answer. If there is a previous topic on this (or some useful page elsewhere), please point me to the right direction.
