when i downloaded mirc and run it i successfully able to download it but when i tried to run mirc and click on the mirc icon it open for awhile and closes right away without me getting connected

the worst is when i go over to programs and click on mirc i cannot find the mirc icon there anymore

what is this problem all about? is this some sort of virus in it or what?

First, make sure that you downloaded it from here and not from some other site. All files from here are free of viruses, but we can't guarantee that that is true for other sites.

It could be your antivirus program being a pain. Some antivirus programs consider IRC to be a dangerous place and block mIRC and other clients automatically (some even delete the mIRC.exe file). You'd need to go in and put mIRC in as a "safe" file and make sure that IRC itself isn't blocked by the antivirus.

Other than that, try reinstalling it and see what happens.

thanks for the info i have been trying to figure it out on how i can do that but how will i make sure that mirc.exe is on a safe mode? so my antivirus will not delete it its really deleting mirc.exe

That all depends on your antivirus software. They aren't all the same.
