After i installed mIRC i am unable to connect to the server.all that happens is that it keeps retrying but never connects. i have put information in the options but that doesn't seem to make a difference. can someone please help me out.

Are you behind a strong firewall?
Are you using WindowsXp?
Are you sure that the list of servers you are trying is up to date? For example , the list of Dalnet servers available right now it is not the same one that comes in servers.ini.

i dont have windows xp or a firewall that i am behind. when i try to connecti i get the messege "can not connect to server" or something similar to it.

What server are you trying to connect to? Have you tried others?

Did u try connecting to other net? other servers? Did u get same answer in all?.
If that is the case , I would suggest you to download and install a fresh mIRC .
