I am volunteering with the WiredSafety.org and this student asked the ultimate question "What is Mirc. Now I know it is a free shareware program and that it is an Internet Relay Chat system. What does the M stand for?

From an old FAQ on this site, "It quite possibly stands for 'moo', or perhaps even MU."
