First I'll mention to you my general PC configuration in case its supposed to matter-
CPU: AMD 64 3000+
RAM: 1 GB
Internet Line: 1 mbps (128 kbps download speed / 10-20 kbps upload speed)

I have this huge problem with my mirc version 6.21
it crashes everytime a xdcc download starts from a bot on any channel.
The moment i start downloading anything through IRC, mirc crashes and i get that windows error reporting dialog box window.
This way im unable to download anything at all using mirc.
But the same files from the same channels, im able to download using other clients.
But I prefer using mirc.

By the way, I have openssl installed.
if i try to connect to a server securely, for example:
Quote:
/server irc.kaffee-net.de +6670

then i just keep getting this-
Quote:
* Unable to connect to server (Connection attempt timed out)

Without SSL though i can connect.

Please help me!
Thank you!

Regarding your xdcc download problem, this sticky applies

Regarding not being able to connect using SSL, since you can connect without SSL, you should verify that SSL connections are available on that server, and what port(s) are configured for SSL connections.

Using 6.21 and
Code:
/server -m irc.kaffee-net.de +6670

I get the error message:
Code:
* /server: ssl not available

That means that the server that you connected to using irc.kaffee-net.de doesn't support SSL on port 6670

If you want to use SSL, then you're going to have to talk to an IRCop (or possibly administrator) on that network to find out which servers and which ports support SSL.

In any mIRC window, type the following:

//echo -a SSL Ready- $sslready

If it says SSL Ready- $false, then it means that the SSL DLLs have not been loaded correctly.
