Hello,
I have downloaded the recent version of MIRC and it will not show me the MIRC icon, nor will it launch/execute. Can someone please help me? I am confused on what to do!

Delete it and reinstall a version downloaded from one of the mirrors listed here.

I have done that several times and it has not solved my problem. If i had any "wits", they would be at an end....

yes, I have. it is crazy. The launch icon for mirc looks like a generic windows execution file as well.

The program file when I try to download is not checked...it is greyed out and I cannot "check" it for download as well. What should I do?

Sounds like the download is being corrupted. Have you tried more than one web browser?

Failing that, I'd try scanning your computer for viruses to see if you have any. If that's clean, you may wish to disable your antivirus while you download the file to see if that's causing it.

Could the exe file be emailed to me? would that help?

My pc is free of virus....i am using iexporer....the latest version.

I don't think so. Not unless you use something like outlook as your mail client rather than web-based email.

Nope. But maybe using a real webbrowser would. Something ilke Firefox or Opera anything but Infernal Deplorer

not trying to be funny or anything, but you are using a Windows based operating system correct? 98 or above? if so there might be a problem with your system and might have to reinstall, but that is worse case Scenario. As stated before, try downloading/installing with your antivirus off. If that doesnt work, try going back to previous version of mirc and see if that works instead.
