hi, i have two mircs on this computer, in two seperate folders names c:\mirc and c:\MmIRC. the mirc that is in the MmIRC (scripts running) folder runs the help file when i type /help <something> , but the mirc that runs in the main mirc folder, ( NO scripts running or loaded), wont start the help file, and before you ask, yes, there is a mirc.hlp file in both folders.

I have tried:
  • /help <something>
  • /help
  • F1

and none of them work. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

<edit>
i also am having trouble using the /run command. i cant start anything. could these problems be related? could i have screwed something up when i uninstalled and then reinstalled mirc several times in a row?

The problem with the help file not responding has been reported in the Bug Reports section.

As to the /run command, you should check the setting at mIRC Options - Other - Lock - Disable Commands: - Run

If that is checked, it would explain why /run won't work, although I believe if it is checked and you try to use /run it's supposed to come up with an error message saying that it's locked.

Further to your first problem, refer to /help not working
