I was wondering how do you set the & prefix for a nickname on a channel...I can't seem to find it frown

I think it's +a but I'm not too sure.

/mode #ChannelName +a NickToProtect

must have correct access rights to set this mode.

/msg chanserv protect #ChannelName NickToProtect
is another way

I've tried that..but I don't think the server has this type of feature so maybe there's a way to add it? It's the forestnet server...

irc.forestnet.org does have PROTECT

/msg chanserv help protect

format: /msg chanserv protect #channel nick

or if you are chan owner type /mode #channel +a nick

or add the nick as SOP

/msg chanserv sop #channel add nick

(i have been to this server and once you register a room it does indeed allow you to utilise the protect feature.)

I tried doing that and it says I don't own the channel when I DO own it.. I mainly want the symbol changed to & but it's not happening...

modes & and ~ are setup when compiling the ircd (Chanowner etc).

All IRCds I know of use the +a for that symbol. So if you can't set +a then you don't have +q. You also can't set +a if +a doesn't exist.

Do you assume all IRCds support that mode?

Are you the admin of that server? Or in control?
