Hey. I was wondering how to get into an IRC Chat w/o actually having a program like MIRC installed on your computer. I've seen it done with people just going onto a webpage and getting in through there..

Can anyone tell me how to do this? thanks

Google for Java IRC web clients.

The last time I checked, pjirc was pretty good. It needs to be configured to use the right encoding etc., but it's done realitively easily by creating an HTML page.

pjirc is a rather good java applet and full featured.

another one is cgi:irc, which has my vote because it's more usefriendly for beginning users and it gives the hosting party more control over the settings
I don't know specifically about cgi:irc, but most cgi based irc programs are frowned upon because they connect to the IRC server through the host's internet connection, whereas java irc programs connect using the user's internet connection. The problem with connecting through the host's internet is that A) it puts a huge load on their server and internet connection, B) all users have the same hostmask/IP so they can't be banned effectively using typical IRC commands.
