I've been using mIRC for quite a few years now, but is there an online mIRC (where you don't have to download it) as I am more at work than home, and can't download on work's computer

shouldnt you be working when your at work? Maybe there is a reason that your network administartors have prohibited the download of mirc (like making ya do ya work)

Google for CGI:IRC
Or use yourfreedom.de

"Waste" a CD, or use a USB "Jump" drive, and stick mIRC onto that. mIRC doesn't need to be installed to use it, though it will stick a note of "last time run" into the registry. If it's okay to use mIRC, but not to download/install stuff, then this isn't an issue.

Note that many work networks prevent all IRC access by blocking the ports, so if that's the case where you are, you won't be able to use any IRC from work... whether it's mIRC or a CGI or Java client (aka: an online client).

CGI is server side (unlike the java applet) so you use port 80 to connect to the CGI page and that connects to the IRC network.

mouselike.org is a bad but free cgi:irc host

(PS: just checked mouselike and the Test account expired, I wonder when they are going to fix that...)
